The SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) is a dynamic Asian business school with about 5,500 students and over a hundred full-time faculty members with postgraduate degrees from renowned universities such as Cornell, Harvard, INSEAD, Oxford, Stanford and Yale. The school offers undergraduate, master's (including MBA and EMBA) and doctoral programmes and is affiliated with a number of research centres such as the Institute of Service Excellence and the Centre for Marketing Excellence.
In 2011, LKCSB first received both the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation and a five-year EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation. For both accreditations, the School has the distinction of being one of the youngest schools in the world to be accredited. In 2016, LKCSB successfully renewed its 5 year accreditation for EQUIS and in 2021, a 5 year accreditation for AACSB. In 2018 the school was accredited by AMBA , LKCSB is one of the youngest schools in the world to have the triple crown accreditation.
The SMU Yong Pung How School of Law (YPHSL) is a vibrant community of educators, scholars and learners. Our mission is to develop impactful legal research and educate lawyers of distinction. YPHSL traces its origins to 2000. Then, its predecessor, the Law Department within the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, was created and headed by Professor Andrew Phang. In 2007, with Professor Michael Furmston at the helm, the department became a full-fledged law school and welcomed its first batch of students to its LLB and JD programmes.
SMU Yong Pung How School of Law has since expanded its academic offerings to include, among others, JD and LLM degrees as well as a suite of seminars for legal practitioners to obtain their CPD points under its SMU Law Academy.
It houses leading research centres in the form of:
Centre for Commercial Law in Asia (CCLA)Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA)Centre for AI and Data Governance (CAIDG) and the Centre for Computational Law.
