Professor Onur BOYABATLI
Biography
Onur Boyabatli is Professor of Operations Management at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. He holds a PhD in Technology and Operations Management from INSEAD, France, M.S. and B.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey. His expertise is in the areas of integrated risk management in global supply chains, commodity risk management with a special focus on agricultural industries including live-animal, oilseeds, grains and cocoa, decision analytics in agribusiness, sustainable operations, technology and capacity management under financing frictions in capital-intensive industries and supply chain finance. His research papers have been published in Management Science and Manufacturing & Services Operations Management (M&SOM). He recently served as the Chair for iFORM (Interface of Finance, Operations and Risk Management) Special Interest Group. He is serving as a Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management journal and he has served as an Associate Editor for the M&SOM journal. At SMU, he teaches a broad range of courses including “Decision Analysis,” “Risk Management: Building Resilient Supply Chains,” “Supply Chain Innovation,” and ‘’Sustainability: Beyond Net Zero” in various programs including the Executive, DBA and MBA programs. He is a frequent receiver of the Dean’s Teaching List Award both in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs
He is the co-editor of “Handbook of Integrated Risk Management in Global Supply Chains.” and “Agricultural Supply Chain Management Research - Operations and Analytics in Planting, Selling, and Government Interventions.”
He was selected for “Most Influential Business Professors under 40” By Singapore Business Review in 2016.
