Corporate Governance and Stakeholders Public Seminar

The "Corporate Governance and Stakeholders" Public Seminar will bring together leading financial and regulatory institutions at Chulalongkorn University, including the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Bank of Thailand, alongside representatives from publicly listed and private financial institutions. In this pioneering initiative, organized by the Asian Corporate Law Forum and co-sponsored by the European Corporate Governance Institute, leading scholars from preeminent universities across the Asia-Pacific will provide academic perspectives on evolving stakeholder governance frameworks and legal challenges in their implementation. 

The seminar will examine how businesses can effectively balance shareholder interests with those of broader stakeholders—including employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. Panellists will analyse emerging governance practices, regulatory developments, and policy frameworks that promote ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability in corporate decision-making. 

Distinguished speakers will demonstrate how stakeholder-centric governance can enhance long-term value creation, mitigate enterprise risks, and strengthen Thailand's competitiveness in global markets. Through case studies of successful implementations, participants will explore how integrating social and environmental considerations into corporate governance strategy delivers sustainable benefits across stakeholder groups. Academic experts will provide theoretical context and practical steps for developing robust governance mechanisms while addressing potential implementation challenges both in Thailand and internationally.

This seminar provides a comprehensive legal and governance framework to help businesses and regulators develop resilient, inclusive strategies aligned with international best practices. Participants will gain both strategic insights and practical tools to enhance stakeholder engagement and strengthen their governance systems.
