Georg Ringe is Professor of Law and Director of the Institute of Law & Economics at the University of Hamburg. He is also a permanent visiting professor at the University of Oxford, Faculty of Law. In Oxford, he is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of European and Comparative Law and an associate member of the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance.
Professor Ringe’s research focuses on European and global issues of financial regulation, corporate governance, and insolvency law. He is an editor of the Journal of Financial Regulation, which has been published by Oxford University Press since 2015. He has been advising both the European Commission and the European Parliament on issues of European corporate law. He has held visiting positions in many leading universities around the world, including Columbia Law School.
