Mrs Sarah A Mehrabani
Biography
Sarah Mehrabani is an experienced Non-Executive Director (NED), thought leader, and governance advisor with over 17 years of experience on both sides of the boardroom. She has held leadership roles as both a non-executive director and a member of executive management teams. Specializing in corporate governance, Sarah has a proven track record in enhancing board effectiveness, implementing robust governance frameworks, and fostering strong relationships between boards and executives.
Currently, Sarah serves as the Managing Partner for Charvet & Cie. in Iran, where she leads the firm’s initiatives in providing expert advice on board professionalization and governance excellence. Previously, she was the Head of the Corporate Governance Committee at the Iran Chamber of Commerce, where she led efforts to promote good governance practices within the Iranian business community. She is also a guest lecturer at the College of Management of the Tehran University and a member of the scientific committee, and the head of international affairs Committee for the Iran International Annual Corporate Governance Conference.
Sarah has extensive expertise in board composition, culture, fiduciary duties, board evaluation, and executive coaching. She is recognized for her work in improving governance practices within the private sector. Importantly, she translated ISO 37000, the international corporate governance standard, into Persian, making it accessible to Iranian businesses in different industries by conducting seminars, workshops, and master classes.
Additionally, Sarah is a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and has published a co-authored white paper on corporate governance in Iran. She is also a certified member of European Women on Boards (EWOB).
