Swedish House of Finance and the European Corporate Governance Institute organised the SHoF Annual Conference on August 27 and 28. The first day featured keynote presentations and panel discussions on policy implications. The second day was an opportunity for academics from all around the world to catch up and discuss the importance of new findings in corporate governance.

Luigi Zingales, Robert C. McCormack Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, presented research on "Corporate Democracy," challenging the traditional profit-maximization model. He argued for a shareholder welfare maximization approach, where companies consider societal and environmental impacts alongside financial performance. He was joined by Mireia Giné (IESE Business School) and Petra Hedengran (Investor AB) for a panel discussion.
