Corporate governance of public firms is at a crossroads. Demands for engaging with the wider societal impact of corporations, and even engaging with political and geopolitical issues, are rising. How can corporations respond?

At the same time, the rise of global investors with limited involvement in portfolio firms challenges the Swedish corporate governance model. Who will serve on the nominating committees and boards?

Swedish House of Finance and the European Corporate Governance Institute organised the SHoF Annual Conference on August 27 and 28. The first day featured keynote presentations and panel discussions on policy implications. The second day was an opportunity for academics from all around the world to catch up and discuss the importance of new findings in corporate governance.
