Dr Stefan Lewellen

Dr. Stefan M. Lewellen is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Financial Economics (2013) and MBA in Finance (2007) from Yale University, following a B.B.A. in Engineering Route to Business (Finance and Aerospace Engineering) from The University of Texas at Austin (2001). 

Dr. Lewellen's research interests encompass corporate finance, financial intermediation, political economy, industrial organization, and labor. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the American Economic Review. 

At Smeal, he teaches courses such as FIN 588 – Seminar in Corporate Finance Research and FIN 305 – Financial Management of the Business Enterprise, providing students with a foundational understanding of key concepts within corporate finance.
