Dr Stefan Lewellen

Dr. Stefan Lewellen is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Financial Economics and MBA in Finance from Yale University and a B.B.A. in Engineering Route to Business (Finance and Aerospace Engineering) from The University of Texas at Austin. 

Dr. Lewellen's research interests encompass corporate finance, financial intermediation, political economy, and industrial organization. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the American Economic Review.  His research has won numerous awards and has been cited in outlets including the Harvard Business Review and The Economist.

At Smeal, he teaches courses such as FIN 588 – Seminar in Corporate Finance Research and FIN 405 – Advanced Financial Management, providing students with a foundational understanding of key concepts within corporate finance.
