Biography

As an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting at the Free University of Bolzano, I live my dream of conducting research on today's pressing issues in disclosure regulation, sustainability, and governance, with a focus on the European banking industry.

I teach Intermediate Financial Accounting, Banking, and Corporate Finance in the Bachelor's program of Economics and Management and New Frontiers in Financial Intermediation and Banking in the Master's program of Accounting and Finance. I have also been engaged to teach a block of Theory and Empirical Research in Disclosure for a course on Theoretical Models and Empirical Finance at the PhD School in Economics and Finance.

My practical experience includes commercial banking, where I focused on financial accounting, risk management, asset pricing, and M&A operations.

I frequently present my work at national and international conferences. I look forward to exchanging ideas on practical issues and research opportunities at the intersection of accounting and banking regulations toward the decarbonization process.

Current Projects

In my research, I adopt archival methodology, using large datasets and statistical tools to study the effects of disclosure and further financial and non-financial measures on transparency and financial stability in the banking industry. My current work focuses on European banks' disclosure regulation, COVID-19 moratoria measures, and accounting procyclicality as part of banks' transitional process to decarbonization.
