Professor María Gutiérrez Urtiaga

María Gutiérrez is an associate professor at the Universidad Carlos III, Department of Business and Finance. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universidad Complutense in 2000 and a Master in Economics and Finance from CEMFI in 1997. Her current research interests include corporate governance and law and economics.



María has received several grants and awards for her research work. Her work is regularly presented at prestigious finance conferences including European Economic Association, European Finance Association and CEPR meetings. Her publications to date include Rand Journal of Economics, Journal of Corporate Ownership and Control and several publications in Spanish journals. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of Investigaciones Económicas.
