Professor Pedro Matos delivered the second lecture in the NBS-PRI-ECGI Public Lecture Series examining the current landscape of ESG and responsible investing. The lecture, titled "ESG investing and the green transition", reviewed recent academic evidence on how investors who align their portfolios with ESG principles contribute to the overarching goal of greening the planet. Additionally, Prof. Matos presented novel evidence on the current state of the green transition and critically assessed whether progress is occurring swiftly enough to meet global sustainability objectives.

The lecture was moderated by Stephen Beer, Head of Responsible Investment Strategic Relationships and Integration Strategy, Legal & General Investment Management.

The series provides monthly in-person or online public lectures. Each lecture will feature a leading academic to present cutting-edge research of a specific topic, and an industry expert to moderate the session, sharing insights from the field and also tailoring audience questions in a way to better enable bridging the gap between research and practice.

The NBS-PRI-ECGI Public Lecture Series is a new global joint initiative between Nanyang Business School (NBS), Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) and European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) to facilitate the knowledge exchanges between academics, practitioners, and policymakers in sustainable business.
