The Columbia Law School annual Conference on M&A and Corporate Governance was held on 22 November 2024. It gathered speakers from academia, the judiciary, and the legal and finance industries to explore relevant issues in M&A and corporate governance, including implications of the US election for M&A. Topics of conversation included the state of shareholder activism, legislative and regulatory developments affecting dealmaking, and Delaware law regarding controlling shareholders.

The second panel of the day, "Legislative and Regulatory Developments in M&A" was moderated by Jeffrey N. Gordon, Richard Paul Richman Professor of Law and Millstein Center Faculty Co-Director, Columbia Law School and was comprised of:
