Vincenzo Cariello was born in 1965 in Arezzo, Italy.
In 1989 he gained a degree in Law at the Cattolica University, Milan, Italy(top mark). In 1996 he received a PhD in Company Law from the Bocconi University of Milan, Italy (top mark).
1998-2000 he lectured on Company Law, Faculty of Law, Cattolica University, Milan. 2000-2001 he was Associate Professor of Company Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ferrara, Italy. In 2001 he became Full Professor of Company Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ferrara, Italy. Currently he is Full Professor of Company and Commercial Law at Universita´Cattolica del S. Cuore - Milano, Italy.

He is the author of three books ("Controllo congiunto e accordi parasociali, 1997; 'Capogruppo e patronage alla generalita', 2002 and 'Il sistema dualistico. Vincoli tipologici e autonomia statutaria', Giuffré, Milano, 2007) and of a large number of papers.
He has also been a Visiting Scholar University of Heidelberg (1995-1996; 1997, 1998); an Academic Visitor University of Heidelberg and Max Planck Institut of Hamburg (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and an Academic Visitor Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge (2004).
He has also been a Visiting Scholar University of Heidelberg (1995-1996; 1997, 1998); an Academic Visitor University of Heidelberg and Max Planck Institut of Hamburg (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and an Academic Visitor Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge (2004).
