Prof. Paola Schwizer is Full Professor of Financial Markets and Institution at the University of Parma (Italy), where she teaches Risk Management and Value Creation in Banks. She completed her degree at Bocconi University in Milan (Italy), where she is still active as Professor at the SDA Bocconi School of Management. She is originator and manager of the SDA Bocconi educational program “Board Practice”, aimed at encouraging the professional growth of executive and independent board members. She is President of Nedcommunity, the Italian Association of non-executive and independent directors and member of the board of directors of ecoDa, The European Confederation of Directors’ Associations in Brussels.
She is author and co-author of many books and articles, among others: “Governance 2.0", Bancaria Editrice, Rome, 2015; “Don’t Stand So Close to Me: The role of supervisory style in banking stability”, Journal of Banking and Finance, 2015 (forthcoming)” and “The determinants of reputational risk in the banking sector”, Journal of Banking & Finance, 2013. She is member of the editorial board of the “Journal of Management and Governance”.
