Biography
Federico M. Mucciarelli is a full professor of business law at the Department of Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He was previously a Reader in law at SOAS University of London, and an assistant professor at the University of Bologna. He got a JD from the University of Bologna (1996), an LL.M. from the University of Heidelberg (2000), and a Phd in business law from the University of Brescia (2003). He was visiting scholar in many research institutes and University, such as the Max-Planck Institut of Hamburg, the University of Oxford and the IALS of London. He worked at the Banca d’Italia (2000 – 2001). Prof. Mucciarelli has written several articles, published on Italian and international journals, on topics related to domestic and international company, insolvency and capital market law, with a particular focus on takeover regulation (he published a book on defensive measures against takeover bids in 2004 and a general book on takeover regulation in 2014) and international company law (among other publications, he published a book on cross border transfer of registered office in 2010). He acted as one of the principal investigators for the ‘Study on the Law Applicable to Companies’ drafted for the European Commission and published in 2016.
