Biography

Cem Veziroğlu is an assistant professor of commercial law at Koç University Law School. He serves as an affiliate scholar at the UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development, and the editor-in-chief of the NASAMER Law Blog. He also acts as arbitrator, counsel and expert in domestic and international commercial arbitrations.

He holds his LL.B. from the Galatasaray University and Magister Juris from the University of Oxford. Following his master’s, he co-authored a book on the economic analysis of leveraged buyouts and financial assistance prohibition. He conducted his doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute (Hamburg) as an international researcher funded by the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. Having completed his PhD at the University of Istanbul, his dissertation “Contractual Freedom and Its Limits in Corporate Law” was published in 2021.

He contributed to various international projects funded by the EU, the World Bank and British Council. His research areas include corporate law, arbitration law, sustainability & business law.
