Associate Professor Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru
Biography
Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru has a degree in law and one in economics, a PhD in Law and one in Energy, he successfully completed an MBA Executive from the Vienna University of Business & Economics (WU) and a LLM in Business Law and has many post-graduate courses in the fields of business law, European law or construction law.
Since 2004 he has been teaching at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, from the position of assistant professor, lecturer and now he is an Associate Professor: European Union Law, Business Law, European Business Law, Competition Law, European Contract Law and Digital Single Market, Contract Law and Construction Law, in Romanian and English.
In 2020 he started holding the position of Dean of Faculty of Law from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, the youngest public school of law in Romania, but a very dynamic and innovative one.
He has been entrepreneur and attorney-at-law from 2005, focused especially on industries like tourism, Horeca, real-estate or construction.
Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru is a founding member o several societies at national level and got involved actively in the European or international networks, such as: Romanian Construction Law Association (founder and former Chairman for the period 2014-2022), member of the Board of the European Society of Construction Law (ESCL 2018-2024), Romanian Society of Business Law (founder and former general Secretary), member of the European Corporate Governance Institute.
He has participated at more than 50 conferences, mostly focused on legal aspects, organising international events ones like: Perspectives of European Business Law, Perspectives of Banking and Financial Law, Perspectives of IPlaw, Perspectives of Construction Law, Perspectives of Tax Law, the Annual Conference of the European Society of Construction Law or national ones like: National conference of Tax Law or National Conference of Business Law.
He has been publishing scientific articles and books on European business law, Competition Law or Contract Law.
