Biography

I am a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the USA, adjunct business school professor, entrepreneur and executive who has more than 30 years of professional experience, and have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area, California USA for over three decades. As an engineer, I am always curious about new technologies as they apply to our everyday lives.


I am an experienced entrepreneur having scaled and built a successful company from the ground up. I am skilled in formation and management of joint ventures and strategic alliances, and corporate governance.


I served as an independent consultant to global management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton for 7 years and to other multinational companies such as ABB, Amec UK (now Wood Group PLC), Parsons Corp., Parsons Brinckeroff (now WSP), and Holmes & Narver and DMJM (now AECOM). I also served as consultant to local governments, States, the U.S. military, and Federal agencies. I was a member of the team that was awarded a contract by the City & County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to conduct research and produce a report on all types of renewable energy in 1995.


I previously served as a Board Member and Vice Chairman of a joint venture that was organized by a Fortune 200 legacy company as well as other large company JV boards in the U.S. Additionally, I have served as Board Member of several non-profit organizations in the U.S. and currently serve as a Board Member of the CSR arm of one of the largest cooperatives in the Philippines with 65,000 workers/members/owners. I have delivered continuing director and executive education masterclasses on innovation strategies to over a thousand board directors, C-level, and other senior executives of publicly-traded & private companies, conglomerates, and multinational corporations from many industries, and from across Asia. I also serve as an advisor to startup founders in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.


Educated at Stanford University School of Engineering (Renewable Energy Specialty Postgraduate Program) and Stanford Graduate School of Business (Strategy and Innovation Specialty), I have been a Guest Lecturer at California State University East Bay MBA Program, Asian Institute of Management Executive Masters Program where I am currently an Adjunct Professor, ASEAN Science Diplomats Lecture Series, and Mentor to Stanford University engineering and management graduate students since 2015 on & off. I earned Executive Education Certificates in Disruptive Innovation Strategy & Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School, and Exponential Thinking and Exponential Technologies from Singularity University in Silicon Valley with studies in AI, Robotics, Biotech, Nano-technology, 3D Printing, Blockchain, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, and Digital Transformation. I also earned a Certificate in Sustainability and ESG for Corporate Boards from a GRI-certified training provider. My B.S. degree is in engineering and I hold an M.B.A.


I am a Fellow and Teaching Faculty member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Fellow of The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (UK), Member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (USA) and its ESG and AI/Technology Cohort, and Singapore Institute of Directors where I also hold the Sr. Accredited Board Director designation and as a contributing writer.
