Biography
Dr Chi Zhang holds an LL.B. and Master of Law (Research) from Tsinghua University, and a Ph.D. in Commercial Law from The University of Glasgow. Dr. Chi Zhang has engaged in legal research in corporate governance, private equity and venture capital, cross-border M&A and sustainable finance, with a particular focus on China's capital markets regulation. His academic articles have been extensively published in leading academic journals in the UK, China, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway and Australia. Some of Dr. Zhang's academic achievements have been reported in full text by the Oxford University Law Faculty and Renmin University of China.
Since 2014, Dr. Zhang has been invited many times as panel chair, academic speaker or commentator at international academic conferences hosted by world-leading research institutions. The conference organizers include: Faculty of Law at The University of Oxford, Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at The University of Cambridge, University College London, King's College London, The American Society of Comparative Law, The University of Copenhagen, European Centre for Advanced Studies (Germany), China Law Society Comparative Law Research Association, University of International Business and Economics School of Law (China), etc. Currently, Dr Zhang's research focuses on regulation and self-regulation over sustainable finance and carbon finance in a global context.
