Biography

Dr. Yamanaka is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Business Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Tokyo Campus. He teaches graduate-level courses in Corporate Law, Financial Law and Corporate Governance from a comparative perspective, with a focus on the legal systems of the U.S., the UK, Germany and Japan. Previously, he was a Fellow at the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and an Associate Research Scholar at Yale Law School. He was also a scholarship recipient at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and a Recognised Student at the University of Oxford Faculty of Law. He holds a Doctor of Laws (Ph.D. in Corporate Law) from the University of Tokyo.
