Ahmed is a recognised bilingual (English/Arabic) risk management and compliance professional. He holds dual degrees, in International Comparative Commercial Law from the University of Edinburgh and in Accounting from Ain Shams University with excellent communication skills at various corporate and government levels.

Ahmed has over 23 years of wealth of knowledge in several MENA senior executive roles in commercial law practice, corporate governance, regulatory risk, audit, and internal controls, covering the span of leading State-Owned-Enterprises, Blue-Chip Multinationals, Big-4 firms and pioneering Gulf based businesses.

Currently, Ahmed is a Regional Director at Ernst & Young leading the risk management , and compliance function across Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Strategically guiding a diverse core team comprising functional specialists, client serving Partners and Senior Directors, based across 9 countries. He is technically skilled in preparing organizations for their IPO journey as well as putting ESG at the heart of value creation.

Critically positioned to advise client boards and leadership on strategies, process improvement, and solutions for regulatory and compliance challenges.

Ahmed has sound knowledge of risk impact assessment, risk scenario analysis, quality improvement, and efficiency in line with applicable regulatory requirements.
