Biography

Rashid Bahar is associate professor at the University of Geneva, where he teaches corporate law, financial regulations and law and economics. His research interests cover legal issues in connection with mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance and corporate finance. He is also an associate with Bär & Karrer where his practice focuses on banking, finance and capital markets. He regularly advises Swiss and foreign banks and securities dealers on transactional and regulatory matters. He is often involved in M&A transactions and complex financings, where he advises both lenders and borrowers. He has extensively published on corporate law and financial regulations and is regularly invited to speak on these issues. Rashid Bahar holds a doctorate from the University of Geneva and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where he was also a visiting researcher.
