Swedish House of Finance and the European Corporate Governance Institute organised the SHoF Annual Conference on August 27 and 28. The first day featured keynote presentations and panel discussions on policy implications. The second day was an opportunity for academics from all around the world to catch up and discuss the importance of new findings in corporate governance.

Wei Jiang, Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Finance at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, discussed the multidimensional nature of board diversity, urging a move beyond the typical focus on demographic attributes like gender and race. She co-authored a study, which analyzed data from over 52,000 directors across more than 5,400 firms from 2000 to 2021, revealing that while demographic diversity has significantly improved, other critical dimensions—such as professional experience, educational background, and political viewpoints—remain underdeveloped.

She was later joined by Catharina Belfrage Sahlstrand (Handelsbanken), Wilhelm Mohn (NBIM), and Ann Grevelius (Opti) for a panel discussion.
