Mr. Vasile Rotaru

Vasile is a DPhil in Law candidate at the University of Oxford, working under the supervision of Prof. Horst Eidenmüller and Prof. Kristin van Zwieten. His doctoral research focuses on governance (formal and informal) strategies used for policing opportunistic behaviour in court-suppervised corporate restructurings in England and France.

He is qualified to practice law in France (Paris Bar) and has practiced in the restructuring, M&A and capital markets departments of several international law firms. He holds degrees in law (Sorbonne, Sciences Po Paris, Columbia Law School), philosophy (Sorbonne) and logic (Sorbonne). His main areas of interest include law & economics, corporate finance, insolvency, corporate governance, financial regulation, comparative private law, private international law, jurisprudence and political philosophy.

Vasile is also an Associate Editor of the Oxford Business Law Blog and Editor-in-Chief of the Revue européenne du droit (RED), a bilingual and biannual legal journal published in English and French.
