Biography

Nizomiddin Kozimov is a legal professional and academic with a robust background in international trade law and corporate governance. He holds an LL.M from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, where he was recognized as a Merit Scholar, and an LL.B from the Tashkent State University of Law, graduating with a GPA of 3.8.

At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Kozimov served as a Student Ambassador from 2022 to 2024, playing a key role in representing and advocating for the student body. His research affiliations include prestigious memberships in the Wisconsin International Society, Washington International Trade Association (WITA).

Kozimov's professional journey is marked by significant contributions in both academic and practical legal environments. As a Project Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he supported various research projects, provided administrative aid for academic programs, and contributed to the development of training programs. His role as a Legal Associate Mediator at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tashkent saw him manage a diverse caseload, conduct extensive legal research, and successfully mediate a high-stakes contractual dispute, saving substantial legal costs and preserving business relationships.

Kozimov's early career included positions as a Legal Assistant at A.C Huquq Law Firm, where he conducted legal research and managed case files, and as a Clerk at the Andijan Regional Court of Criminal Cases, where he drafted legal opinions and handled administrative tasks for criminal cases.

In addition to his professional roles, Kozimov has made significant academic contributions. He has presented on the American legal landscape to students at Tashkent State University of Law and authored working papers on modernizing Uzbekistan’s corporate and securities law and the role of the WTO in USA-China trade relations.

Currently, Nizomiddin Kozimov is serving as a Teaching Assistant at Westminster International University in Tashkent, where he continues to influence and mentor the next generation of legal professionals.
