Biography

Irene Yi joined the Rotman School of Management as an Assistant Professor of Finance in July 2018, following a year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at Purdue University. Her research focuses on corporate governance, corporate finance, and labor and finance, with particular attention to the tradeoffs in expanding shareholder rights. Her work has been published in leading journals, including the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Law and Economics, and has received coverage in academic and industry forums. She has won multiple teaching awards and currently teaches Corporate Finance at Rotman, having also taught corporate governance and other finance courses at both undergraduate and doctoral levels.
