Biography

After graduating from Paris VI University in Economics and from Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Political Sciences, François Henrot entered Ecole Nationale d'Administration in 1972.

He began his career in 1975 at the Conseil d'Etat (French Administrative Supreme Court). In 1978, he joined the Direction Générale des Télécommunications (DGT), predecessor to France Telecom, where he was appointed Deputy Director of International Development then Director of Marketing and Sales. In this capacity, he was notably in charge of creating, developing and marketing the Minitel videotext system, and building up a branch sales network.

In March 1985, François Henrot joined the Compagnie Bancaire group, where he has been Director for Planning Development, also in charge of finance and treasury (CFO) then appointed Chief Operating Officer in 1990, and Chief Executive Officer on 18 March 1993.

On 27 September 1995, François Henrot was appointed as member of the Management Board of Compagnie Financière de Paribas, in charge of supervising the group's retail banking activities. In December 1995, he was further named Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the group's Crédit du Nord retail banking subsidiary.

On February 26th 1997, François resigned from the Management Board of Compagnie Financière de Paribas, and was named, on March 17th, General Partner of Rothschild & Cie Banque.

François Henrot is a non executive director of Carrefour, British Petroleum France, Montupet, Cogedim and Eramet and member of the Supervisory Board of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR) and Vallourec.
