Biography
Christoph Burckhardt is a Research Fellow at the Law Faculty of the University of Basel, an Associate at the law firm Walder Wyss in Basel and Legal Counsel at Emilian Ltd., a start-up in the insurance sector. He is currently leading the research project on the Zurich Commentary on Stock Corporation Law, Art. 650-653v OR (Capital Measures), edited by Prof. Dr. Peter Jung, Maître en droit. Christoph Burckhardt studied at the Universities of Basel and Geneva (BLaw 2012, MLaw 2014), at Harvard Law School (LL.M. 2022) and received his doctorate from the University of Zurich on the subject of loyalty shares (Dr. iur. des. 2022). In addition to his professional activities he is a captain at the Swiss Armed Forces, judge at a Military Court of Appeals and in 2017 has been elected one of the youngest members of the Citizens Municipal Council of his hometown Basel.
