Biography

Asli Togan Egrican is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Kadir Has University, Department of International Trade and Finance (under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences). Her research focuses on Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Capital Market Development, and Labor and Finance. Her research so far has been published in several journals including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Applied Economics, the Global Finance Journal, the Journal of Cultural Economics, and her work was covered in the Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog. She also currently participates as a researcher in a TUBITAK 1001 project, the Role of Risk Factor Knowledge of Individual Investors in Preference of Unregulated Financial Products in Turkey. Dr. Togan Egrican holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the George Washington University, an M.B.A (with a Finance focus) from the University of Maryland, and an M.A. in Applied Economics from the Johns Hopkins University. She is a graduate of Bilkent University in Turkey. Previously, she worked at the World Bank Research Department, Cornerstone Research in Washington, D.C. and Bengur Bryan & Co. Investment Bankers in Baltimore, M.D. She is a citizen of Turkey and United States.
