Biography

Anne-Marie Weber is conducting academic research and teaches courses at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, where she has received her Ph.D. in 2015. Her doctoral thesis  undertook the topic of capital market regulation as an instrument mitigating the inefficiency of public (state) ownership of corporations and was distinguished in 2016 by the Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority in the competition for the best thesis concerning financial market regulation. In 2012 Anne-Marie graduated from University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Her academic path of experience is mirrored in an established publication record including two books, several contributions to edited volumes, and numerous journal articles. She publishes in English, Polish and German. Her main areas of research revolve around company law, corporate governance and financial market regulation.

Anne-Marie Weber currently leads three research projects at the University of Warsaw:

1) "The Role of Sustainable Corporate Governance for EU Climate Policy" - financed by the Polish National Science Centre

2) "Combatting financial exclusion of the elderly in the digital era - a regulatory roadmap" - financed by the Polish National Science Centre

3) "Das Unternehmensinteresse in Deutschland und Polen - eine rechtsvergleichende Analyse im Kontext der europäischen Sustainable Corporate Governance Initiative" - financed by Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftsstiftung
