Biography

Professor Ane Tamayo is the Head of the Department of Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She specializes in accounting, financial reporting, disclosure, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). In her role at LSE, Professor Tamayo teaches courses such as AC416 Topics in Financial Reporting, AC491 Financial Accounting, Reporting and Disclosure, and AC501 Empirical Financial Accounting and Capital Markets. 

Her research interests encompass financial reporting and disclosure, financial intermediaries, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, and empirical asset pricing.

Professor Tamayo has contributed to numerous publications, including:

  • “Sexism, Culture, and Firm Value: Evidence from the Harvey Weinstein Scandal and the #MeToo Movement,” forthcoming in the Journal of Accounting Research.
  • “The Bond Market Benefits of Corporate Social Capital,” published in the Review of Accounting Studies in 2023.
  • “Social Capital, Trust and Firm Performance: The Value of Corporate Social Responsibility during the Financial Crisis,” featured in the Journal of Finance in 2017.
