Biography

Andrew Baker qualified as a solicitor in 1972 and joined Clyde & Co recently. In his former firm he was head of Corporate Finance, specialising in mergers, acquisitions, stock market issues and cross border transactions.


In 1997 Andrew was appointed Chairman of CISCO, the UK organisation which is now called The Quoted Companies Alliance and which represents the interests of smaller quoted companies and intermediaries advising them, having been a member of its Corporate Governance Committee and chairman of its Legal Committee; he is also legal adviser to Apcims-EASD's Corporate Governance Committee and was involved in drafting the code promulgated by EASD.


Other appointments include being a non-executive director of Canterbury Foods Group plc, the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce and Lambeth Building Society. He has served on various government committees relating to questions concerning listed companies.
