The theme of the eighth conference in the series, which took place in Washington at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington D.C. on Thursday, 15th December 2011, was Shareholder Engagement: What is 'Appropriate'?.

With Poland holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the organisers are most grateful for the support of the Polish Embassy in Washington and for the sponsorship of the 2011 conference by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
