The Mayo Center for Asset Management at the University of Virginia, an ECGI Academic Institutional Member, and the Investment Company Institute (ICI) hosted the 2019 Academic & Practitioner Symposium on Mutual Funds and ETFs on Friday, February 22nd, 2019 in Washington, DC (U.S.A.).  The symposium brought together practitioners, regulators and academics to discuss important issues in asset management and the focus this year was on Corporate Governance and ESG investing.  The program consisted of four invited academic papers (each with a practitioner and an academic discussant), two panel discussions and the lunch keynote speaker was Bill McNabb, former Chairman and CEO of Vanguard.  Additional details about the conference can be found here: https://www.darden.virginia.edu/faculty-research/seminars-conferences/academic-practitioner-symposium/

The conference venue was Darden’s campus in Washington DC in Rosslyn, VA overlooking the Potomac River (with easy access from Reagan National airport and Dulles International airport).
