Marie Gemma Dequae studied applied economics at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.Leuvent) where she obtained a Ph. D. in applied economics (finance) and also studied economics and law of insurances at U.C. Louvain.
She is senior advisor of FERMA (federation of European Risk Management Associations).
She is board member and member of the audit committee of Belfius bank and Belfius Insurance and the group Vinçotte in Belgium.
She teaches risk management at ENPC MBA in Paris.
She was group risk manager until 2009 of the Bekaert Group, a global technological and market leader in advanced solutions based on metal transformation and coatings.
She was president of the Belgian Risk Management Association and the FERMA.
