Alessio Maria Pacces is Professor of Law and Finance at the Erasmus School of Law. Before moving to academia, he was senior researcher in the Law and Economics Research Department of the Italian Central Bank (Banca d’Italia). Previously, he worked at the Inspectorate Department of the Italian Supervisory Authority on Securities Markets (Consob) and served as junior officer in the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza).
Alessio teaches Introduction to Law and Economics, Microeconomics, Comparative Corporate Governance, Financial Regulation, and Law and Economics in the Courts. He has held a number of visiting appointments in these areas, including at Berkeley Law School, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai, and Columbia Law School, among others.
Since 2009, Alessio is a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute and the Erasmus Mundus coordinator of the European Master of Law and Economics (EMLE). In October 2014, he became Director of the EMLE.
Alessio is fluent in Italian and English, he reads French, and he is learning Dutch.
